Blocker

A blocker is very common element and main obstacle. They prevent a player from accomplishing a level goal. They usually take up a tile (1 x 1 square). Blockers are the main obstacles of the board, so the player has to clear them. Nearly every level has at least one type of blocker. Sometimes blockers are useful because they can prevent chocolate from spreading and very necessary for some type of levels. There are many different types of blockers, each having different properties, so a player has to deal with each one differently. Some are easier to deal with, some harder. Blockers are listed below:

Liquorice Lock

Any kind of candies or swirls can be captured by a liquorice locked and they can’t move until they get unlocked. The blocker looks like a locked door, with liquorice surrounding the outside of the square and an X-formation. Break it by matching 3 candies adjacent to it. It is can also be braked by special candies or combination of special candies. First appeared in Level 2.

Cupcake

A cupcake occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be broken by making candies adjacent to it, or through any special candy’s effects reaching the cupcakes. This procedure needs to be repeated as many times as there are more layers. Color bomb + color bomb combination can take off one layer of all cupcakes. Color bomb + coloring candy can strip all layers of cupcakes.

Two Layered Cupcake

Two-layered cupcakes are single-tile stationary blockers that takes two tries to destroy. When degraded once, it becomes a one layered cupcake. These blockers will degrade by an adjacent match or an effect of a special candy that touches it. It requires 2 hits to break. The two-layered cupcake looks like a sponge cake in a yellow wrapper. First appeared in Level 23.

One Layered Cupcake

A cupcake occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be broken by making candies adjacent to it, or through any special candy’s effects reaching the cupcakes. It requires 1 hit to break. The one-layered cupcake looks like a yellow wrapper in a near-square shape that has been creased 13 times. First appeared in Level 40.

Liquorice Swirl

The blocker looks like a swirl of black liquorice and a dot of cream in the middle, taking up an entire square. It is one of the only blockers that can actually be clicked on and switched with candies, but not matched. It can be disposed of through breaking the candy next to it, or any special candy’s effects through it. They are resistant to special candies. If a striped candy, wrapped candy, or fish candy’s effect hits a liquorice swirl, it will get rid of the blocker but won’t get rid of any other candies or blockers beyond it. Color bomb + color bomb and color bomb + coloring candy combinations can clear all liquorice swirls at once regardless of its resistance. First appeared in Level 41.

Four Layered Cupcake

Four-layered cupcakes are single-tile stationary blockers that takes two tries to destroy. When degraded once, it becomes a three layered cupcake, degraded once more, it becomes two layered cupcake and degraded once more, it becomes one layered cupcake. These blockers will degrade by an adjacent match or an effect of a special candy that touches it. It requires 4 hits to break. The four-layered cupcake looks like a sponge cake with blue mousse and orange cream in a yellow wrapper. First appeared in Level 44.

Three Layered Cupcake

Three-layered cupcakes are single-tile stationary blockers that takes two tries to destroy. When degraded once, it becomes a two layered cupcake and degraded once more, it becomes one layered cupcake. These blockers will degrade by an adjacent match or an effect of a special candy that touches it. It requires 3 hits to break. he three-layered cupcake looks like a sponge cake with blue mousse in a yellow wrapper. First appeared in Level 56.

Five Layered Cupcake

Five-layered cupcakes are single-tile stationary blockers that takes two tries to destroy. When degraded once, it becomes a four layered cupcake, degraded once more, it becomes three layered cupcake, degraded once more, it becomes two layered cupcake and degraded once more, it becomes one layered cupcake. These blockers will degrade by an adjacent match or an effect of a special candy that touches it. It requires 5 hits to break. The five-layered cupcake looks like a cream mousse sponge cake with caramel in a yellow wrapper. First appeared in Level 66.

Fishing Net

It is the only blocker to take up four squares, or a 2×2 area. It is a bunch of fish that bound with net, has the candy fish trapped in a stickylicious net. However, there are three liquorice locks fastened the red nets. Similar to an original fishing net, regular matches or other special candy effects do not hit the large fishing net and they can be activated by using candy fish to hit its net, the maximum is 6. Three first hits will remove 3 liquorice locks and three last hits will remove 3 red nets. After removing all the nets, 12 candy fish will be released out and they hit random tiles on the board. First appeared in Level 421.

It is a bunch of fish that bound with net. The jelly fish is trapped in it. Fish candy can hit this blocker. Regular matches or special candy effects don’t hit it. Each hit will remove one red net of it. After this blocker got hit three times according to the layer, six candy fish are revealed and they hit random tiles on the board. First appeared in Level 241.

Jelly Cube

Any candies, blockers or other elements can be underneath jelly cubes. However, unlike liquorice locks, they are not captured, except cupcakes. The player cannot match candies when all of them is underneath jelly cube unless one or two candies are not under them. Any blockers, candies or other elements can be under jelly cube.

One Layered Jelly Cube

It requires 1 hit to break. Special candies after being matched will be activated in jelly cubes immediately. Blue Jelly Cube & Pink Jelly Cube first appeared in Level 321. Green Jelly Cube first appeared in Level 336.

Two Layered Jelly Cube

It requires 2 hits to break. Special candies after being matched will be activated in jelly cubes immediately. Blue Jelly Cube first appeared in Level 361. Green Jelly Cube & Pink Jelly Cube first appeared in Level 363.

Tangled Liquorice / Jelly Lock

It locks candies under strings and string will expand one square when play does not hit at least on string. String can be removed by regular match or by special candies. It requires 3 hits to remove. It can be damaged by special candies unlike string from the core. Once core is removed, all strings are also removed.  The cover mostly contains color bomb. First appeared in Level 601.

Cotton Cloud

Any candies, blockers or other elements can be underneath the cotton cloud. However, unlike jelly cubes and liquorice locks, they are not captured. The player can’t totally see any candies or blockers inside cotton clouds. Unlike jelly cubes, the player can make them disappear by matching candies near them or using special candy’s effects. If the tangled liquorice is destroyed while its strings are still under cotton clouds, the cotton cloud will immediately be cleared.

One Layered Cotton Cloud

It occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be destroyed by making candies adjacent to it, or with any special candy’s effects. It requires 1 hit to break. Color candies, special candies and blockers are underneath it. It has a light pink layer. First appeared in Level 781.

Two Layered Cotton Cloud

It occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be destroyed by making candies adjacent to it, or with any special candy’s effects. When degraded once, it becomes a one layered cotton cloud. It requires 2 hit to break. Color candies, special candies and blockers are underneath it. It has a light pink and dark pink layer separated. First appeared in Level 792.

Three Layered Cotton Cloud

It occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be destroyed by making candies adjacent to it, or with any special candy’s effects. When degraded once, it becomes a two layered cotton cloud and degraded once more, it becomes one layered cotton clouds. It requires 3 hit to break. Color candies, special candies and blockers are underneath it. It has dark pink layer and a light pink stripe at the middle. First appeared in Level 901.

Four Layered Sugar Chest

It occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be destroyed by making candies adjacent to it, or with any special candy’s effects. When degraded once, it becomes a three layered cotton cloud, degraded once more, it becomes a two layered cotton cloud and degraded once more, it becomes one layered cotton clouds. It requires  hit to break. Color candies, special candies and blockers are underneath it.

Candyvore

It is a pink canivorous plant with green leaves around, and a cyan-blue tongue. After two moves, the candyvore will eat any candies (including special candy) around it. At the first move, the candyvore will release its tongue at any space. Then, that space will brighten up. At the second move, its tongue will release to the space which brightened up if the player doesn’t use special candy to hit it. Special candies after being eaten won’t be activated. If candyvore eats special candy, one leaf will grow again. If it is hit by special candy, the light which it released will disappear. The candyvore is resistant to special candies. If a striped candy hits the plant, it will get rid of the blocker but won’t get rid of any other candies or blockers beyond it. When the candyvore is hit by special candies, is leaves will be shrinked down. Once the candyvore is removed, one of these things will be released (regular candy, candy fish, striped candy, wrapped candy, color bomb, coloring candy, liquorice swirl or nothing). About the appearance of candyvores: one layer has one leaf (at the bottom), two layers have two leaves (at the bottom corner), three layers have three leaves (one at the top, two at the bottom corner) and four layers have four leaves (two at the top corner and two at the bottom corner). If around the candyvore doesn’t have candies, it won’t act. Candyvore likes special candies. That is the reason why it always chooses special candy is its first target. Candyvore can eat candies indirectly through straw.

One Layered Candyvore

It occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be destroyed by any special candy’s effects. has one leaf (at the bottom). It requires 1 hit to destroy. First appeared in Level 1576.

Two Layered Candyvore

It occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be destroyed by any special candy’s effects. When degraded once, it becomes a one layered candyvore It requires 2 hits to destroy. It have two leaves (at the bottom corner). First appeared in Level 1576.

Three Layered Waffle

It occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be destroyed by any special candy’s effects. When degraded once, it becomes a two layered candyvore and degraded once more, it becomes one layered candyvore. It have three leaves (one at the top, two at the bottom corner). It requires 3 hits to destroy. First appeared in Level 1576.

Four Layered Candyvore

It occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be destroyed by any special candy’s effects. When degraded once, it becomes a three layered candyvore a, degraded once more, it becomes two layered candyvore and degraded once more, it becomes one layered candyvore. It requires 4 hits to destroy. It have four leaves (two at the top corner and two at the bottom corner). First appeared in Level 1576.
