Candy Crush Soda Saga Blockers are very common element and main obstacle. They prevent a player from accomplishing a level goal. They usually take up a tile (1×1 square). Blockers threaten the combination of candies and can be very annoying. Blockers are the main obstacles of the board, so the player has to clear them. Nearly every level has at least one type of blocker. There are many different types of blockers, each having different properties, so a player has to deal with each one differently. Some are easier to deal with, some harder. Blockers cannot be swapped with other candies, except of liquorice swirl. Blockers are listed below:
Candy Crush Soda Saga Blockers
Liquorice Lock
Liquorice Lock (also known as Licorice Lock or Locked Candy) is one of the blockers in Candy Crush Soda Saga. The blocker looks like a locked cage, with liquorice surrounding the outside of the square and an X-formation over the candy. Locked candies cannot be switched with; additionally locked blockers cannot be cleared by adjacent matches. Locked elements may only be unlocked by a match if the element is colored, or by a special effect, such as by special candies or explosions. First appeared in Level 2.
Cupcake
Cupcake is one of the blockers in Candy Crush Soda Saga. It occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be broken by making candies adjacent to it, or through any special candy’s effects reaching the cupcakes. This procedure needs to be repeated as many times as there are more layers. Color bomb + color bomb combination can take off one layer of all cupcakes. Color bomb + coloring candy can strip all layers of cupcakes.
One Layered Cupcake
One-layered cupcakes are stationary blockers that occupy only one space. These blockers can be destroyed by an adjacent match or a special candies’ effects that touch it. Ice can hide under the cupcake. The one-layered cupcake looks like a white wrapper in a near-circle shape that has been creased 13 times. First appeared in Level 9.
Two Layered Cupcake
Two-layered cupcakes are single-tile stationary blockers that take two matches to destroy. When degraded once, it becomes a one-layered cupcake. These blockers will degrade by an adjacent match or an effect of a special candy that touches it. Ice can hide under this type of blocker. The two-layered cupcake looks like a sponge cake in a white wrapper with sugar sprinkled on top. It requires 2 hits to break. First appeared in Level 11.
Three Layered Cupcake
Three-layered cupcakes are single-tile stationary blockers that take three hits to destroy. When degraded once, it becomes a two-layered cupcake. These blockers will degrade by an adjacent match or an effect of a special candy that touches it. Ice can hide under this type of blocker. The three-layered cupcake looks like a sponge cake with pink mousse in a white wrapper. It requires 3 hits to break. First appeared in Level 22.
Four Layered Cupcake
Four-layered cupcakes are single-tile stationary blockers that take four hits to destroy. When degraded once, it becomes a three-layered cupcake. These blockers will degrade by an adjacent match or an effect of a special candy that touches it. Ice can hide under this type of blocker. The four-layered cupcake looks like a sponge cake with pink mousse and white cream in a white wrapper. It requires 4 hits to break. First appeared in Level 28.
Five Layered Cupcake
Five-layered cupcakes are single-tile stationary blockers that require five hits to clear. The ways to destroy them are to make a match adjacent to the blocker, special candy effects that touch it five times. These blockers have four degrades and can hide ice underneath it. The five-layered cupcake looks like a cream mousse sponge cake with a cherry in a white wrapper. It requires 5 hits to break. First appeared in Level 41.
Chocolate
Chocolate is one of the blockers in Candy Crush Soda Saga. It is among the most evil blockers as it spreads every move you do not clear it. It can also avert specials. Chocolate can be eaten by breaking the candies adjacent to it, or through any special candy’s effects reaching the chocolate. It multiplies if not broken in a move.
Brown Chocolate
It requires 1 hit to eat. First appeared in Level 32.
Locked Brown Chocolate
The way to break locked brown chocolate is by first breaking through the liquorice lock with a special candy. When degraded once, it becomes a brown chocolate. It requires 2 hits to eat. First appeared in Level 45.
White Chocolate
It requires 1 hit to eat. First appeared in Level 121.
White Chocolate (C-Type)
When degraded once, it becomes a white chocolate. It requires 2 hits to eat. First appeared in Level 121.

Locked White Chocolate (C type)
The way to break locked chocolate is by first breaking through the liquorice lock with a special candy. When degraded once, it becomes a white chocolate. It requires 2 hit to eats. First appeared in Level 201.
Honey
Honey is one of the blockers in Candy Crush Jelly Saga. Honey occupies one square and can have one up to six layers. Honey can trap candies, bears, liquorice swirls, bubble gum, or it can just be empty. While contained in the honey, other elements are isolated from outside and cannot be matched, collected, or destroyed, until the square of honey has been destroyed. Honey can be transparent or opaque, and its coloring varies with the number of layers. Honey can be removed by making matches adjacent to it, or through any special candy’s effects reaching the honey (different from cupcake and ice cubes). Each hit will remove one layer of honey. To be fully destroyed, multi-layered honey requires as many hits as there are layers. It can also be destroyed when a striped or wrapped candy hits an adjacent candy without directly hitting the honey. Chocolate and honey are the only blockers that can be destroyed in such a way. Color bomb + color bomb combination can take off one layer of honey. Color bomb + coloring candy can strip honey without honeycomb, and honeycomb will disappear if there is.

Liquorice Swirl
Liquorice Swirl (also known as Liquorice Wheels or Licorice Swirl) is one of the blockers in Candy Crush Jelly Saga. It is the second type of blocker involving liquorice. The blocker looks like a swirl of black liquorice and a dot of cream in the middle, taking up an entire square. It is one of the only blockers that can actually be clicked on and switched with candies, but not matched. It can be disposed of through breaking the candy next to it, or any special candy’s effects through it. They are resistant to special candies. If a striped candy, wrapped candy, or fish candy’s effect hits a liquorice swirl, it will get rid of the blocker but won’t get rid of any other candies or blockers beyond it. Color bomb + color bomb and color bomb + coloring candy combinations can clear all liquorice swirls at once regardless of its resistance. First appeared in Level 136.
Bubble Gum
Bubble Gum is one of the blockers in Candy Crush Soda Saga. Just like chocolate it spreads or strengthen every move if you do not chew it. When a regular candy, striped candy, fish candy, wrapped candy and coloring candy is locked it can be removed by regular matches. When a color bomb is locked, the lock can only be removed using special candy effects. When a liquorice swirl is locked, it can be removed by adjacent matches. Color bomb + coloring candy can clear all bubble gum on the board. First appeared in Level 166.
Candy Ice Cube
Candy Ice Cube (or ice cube) is one of the blockers in Candy Crush Soda Saga. A candy ice cube occupies one square and stays stationary until cleared. It can be broken by matching candies adjacent to it, or through any special candy’s effects reaching the ice cube. Repeat until cleared. Unlike Honey, the Color Bomb + Coloring Candy combo will destroy all layers. Like Honey, Ice Cubes could contain nothing. When they are trapped in ice cubes, other elements are isolated from outside and lose their properties. Like the comb honey, you cannot see through Ice Cubes with more than two layers. Unlike Honey, candies destroyed by striped or wrapped candy do not affect adjacent ice cubes.
One Layered Ice Cube
It is a stationary blocker that occupies only one space. It can be broken by making candies adjacent to it, or through any special candy’s effects. Candies or blockers without multiple layers can be hidden inside. It requires 1 hit to break. First appeared in Level 226.
Two Layered Ice Cube
It is a stationary blocker that occupies only one space. It can be broken by making candies adjacent to it, or through any special candy’s effects. Candies or blockers without multiple layers can be hidden inside. It requires 2 hits to break. When degraded once, it becomes one layered ice cube. The two-layered ice cube looks like a semi-transparent cube with some mist in it. First appeared in Level 226.
Three Layered Ice Cube
It is a single-tile stationary blocker. The ways to destroy it is to make an adjacent match or special candies effects. Ice can hide under the honey. Candies or Blockers without multiple layers can be hidden inside, but you cannot see through it. It requires 2 or 3 hits to break. When degraded once, it becomes two layered ice cube and degraded once more, it becomes one layered ice cube. The three-layered ice cube looks like a white cube as snow with many cracks. First appeared in Level 226.
Four Layered Ice Cube
It is a single-tile stationary blocker. The ways to destroy it is to make an adjacent match or special candies effects. Ice can hide under the honey. Candies or Blockers without multiple layers can be hidden inside, but you cannot see through it. When degraded once, it becomes three layered ice cube, degraded once more, it becomes two layered ice cube and degraded once more, it becomes one layered ice cube. The four-layered ice cube looks like a white cube as snow with 3 cherries on it. First appeared in Level 266.
Five Layered Ice Cube
It is a single-tile stationary blocker. The ways to destroy it is to make an adjacent match or special candies effects. Ice can hide under the honey. Candies or Blockers without multiple layers can be hidden inside, but you cannot see through it. When degraded once, it becomes four layered ice cube, degraded once more, it becomes three layered ice cube, degraded once more, it becomes two layered ice cube and degraded once more, it becomes one layered ice cube. The five-layered ice cubes look like a silvery white cube with 3 swells. First appeared in Level 226.
Six Layered Ice Cube
It is a single-tile stationary blocker. The ways to destroy it is to make an adjacent match or special candies effects. Ice can hide under the honey. Candies or Blockers without multiple layers can be hidden inside, but you cannot see through it. When degraded once, it becomes a five layered ice cube, degraded once more, it becomes four layered ice cube, degraded once more, it becomes three layered ice cube, degraded once more, it becomes two layered ice cube and degraded once more, it becomes one layered ice cube. The six-layered ice cubes look like a silvery white cube with 3 swells and some colorful icing sugar on it. First appeared in Level 226.
Jelly Cake
Jelly Cake is one of the blockers in Candy Crush Soda Saga. It which occupies a 2 x 2 square on the board. The blocker can take 8 hits (by matching candies adjacent to any of the four spaces the cake occupies or by using special candies) to destroy. Each time a cake takes a hit one of the colored slices vanish (the colored slices vanish in clockwise order, starting from the top). The 8 colors of the slices (one color for each hit) are, (in clockwise order from the top), red, yellow, green, cyan, blue, pink, magenta and purple. When it is destroyed it explodes and hits all the blockers and candies on the board (this effect is like as color bomb + color bomb combination). If the board has special candies, they will be activated; color bomb and coloring will not have effect when activated. The jelly cake can be hit on any of the four squares which it occupies. First appeared in Level 271.
Liquorice Link
Liquorice Link is one of the blockers in Candy Crush Soda Saga. One Link occupies a singles square. A chain of liquorice links is linked together by the string. You can remove the links by making adjacent matches or striking it with a special. If one link is destroyed, the whole chain is destroyed. A Double Color Bomb combo strips one layer of all links on board, but they can still be destroyed immediately if one of them in a chain is one-layered. A Color Bomb + Coloring Candy can strip all layers. First appeared in Level 391.
Peppermint Stick
Peppermint Stick is one of the blockers in Candy Crush Soda Saga. It takes up two to nine squares in a straight line (horizontally and vertically) and can be destroyed by lighting up all stripes on it by matching candies next to it or by hitting it with special candies. When all stripes on the peppermint stick is lit up, it will explode, create the equivalent of a striped candy + striped candy combo for every square it occupied. It has two stripes for every square it occupies, i.e. a peppermint stick which occupies three spaces will have 6 stripes and will therefore need to be hit 6 times. When it explodes it will release a shock wave to all sides of it, including the top and bottom. Color bomb + coloring candy combo can light up all stripes on the peppermint stick at once. It blocks the effect of striped candies, much like liquorice swirls. First appeared in Level 1106.
Pancake
Pancake is one of the blockers in Candy Crush Soda Saga. A pancake occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be broken by making candies adjacent to it, or through any special candy’s effects reaching the pancake. This procedure needs to be repeated as many times as there are more layers. Color bomb + color bomb combination can take off one layer of all pancake. Color bomb + coloring candy can strip all types of pancakes. It is movable. First appeared in Level 3431.
One Layered Pancake
A pancake occupies one square and is stuck until cleared. It can be broken by making candies adjacent to it, or through any special candy’s effects reaching the cupcakes. It requires 1 hit to break.
Two Layered Pancake
Two-layered pancake are single-tile stationary blockers that takes two tries to destroy. When degraded once, it becomes a one layered pancake. These blockers will degrade by an adjacent match or an effect of a special candy that touches it. It requires 2 hits to break.
Three Layered Pancake
Three-layered pancake are single-tile stationary blockers that takes two tries to destroy. When degraded once, it becomes a two layered pancake and degraded once more, it becomes one layered pancake. These blockers will degrade by an adjacent match or an effect of a special candy that touches it. It requires 3 hits to break.

Four-layered pancake are single-tile stationary blockers that takes two tries to destroy. When degraded once, it becomes a three layered pancake, degraded once more, it becomes two layered pancake and degraded once more, it becomes one layered pancake. These blockers will degrade by an adjacent match or an effect of a special candy that touches it. It requires 4 hits to break.
Five Layered Pancake
Five-layered pancake are single-tile stationary blockers that takes two tries to destroy. When degraded once, it becomes a four layered pancake, degraded once more, it becomes three layered pancake, degraded once more, it becomes two layered pancake and degraded once more, it becomes one layered pancake. These blockers will degrade by an adjacent match or an effect of a special candy that touches it. It requires 5 hits to break.
